Future of the EU Transport Sector

With the European Commission having recently set out its vision for the entire EU transport sector up to 2050, the European Parliament now proposes additional measures aimed at helping to achieve a competition-oriented and sustainable transport sector. cep assesses the Parliament's main proposals from an economic and legal perspective.

In September, Parliament passed a report on the implementation of the measures contained in the EU Commission's Transport White Paper. It proposes a list of additional policy measures which will contribute to a competition-oriented and sustainable transport sector. Overall, Parliament affirms its support for the targets already set out in the White Paper.
